Hoi An is a delightful little town on a river. There is an extensive, well preserved Old Quarter which has a rich history of trading with various countries, from the 15th to the 19th Centuries. The foreign traders left their mark on the town with bridges and buildings.
This is the old Japanese Bridge which connected the Japanese sector with the rest of Hoi An.
No shortage of fruit and veges here. This is a part of a market for all kinds of food.
A Buddhist Monk carries his rice bowl slowly past a Temple. They are well fed by their parishioners.
This bridge connects the Old Quater with a lively entertainment district on an island.
Just one of several peaceful temples in the Old Quarter of Hoi An.
The interior of a Temple which has a pool with a rocky island feature.
A close up shot of the feature in that pool. I noticed elsewhere in Vietnam that the locals enjoy having such little statuettes in their rock gardens.
Life proceeds at a leisurely pace in Hoi An.
