This lovely flower was in the grounds of the Phuping Palace, which is located on a mountain road a short distance from the Doi Suithep Temple. It serves as the royal winter residence from mid–December to early February, when it is closed to visitors.
We were in Chiang Mai at the time of the Flower Festival. A perfect time to see the gorgeous flora of the region. This orchid was part of the display which lasted just two days near a park in the South Western corner of the old city, next to the ancient moat.

This lotus flower was at the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden, in the Mae Sa Valley, a few miles North of Chiang Mai.
