This is a glimpse of the Thames with an arch of Blackfriars Bridge above. That morning, I had woken up early and had set off along the Thames Path, heading East towards Tower Bridge. It was a fine day and the morning sun cast a sympathetic light on the River. It was at this point that I crossed over to the North Bank to continue my journey East.
Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury. It is directly across the River Thames from the Houses of Parliament.
Regent Street, heading North from Picadilly Circus. Note the young man striking a pose for the camera.
The Cavalry arrives at Hyde Park in the nick of time!
The morning light was perfect for this shot of St Pauls, seen from the South Bank.
Regent's Canal, walking towards Camden Town. London Zoo is close by, on the South bank of the canal, to our right.
The London Eye... with rearing horses! And that gorgeous morning light again, reminding me of the miniature silhouette portraits of a bygone era.
The Lion of Trafalgar... with the wonderful National Gallery behind it. When I lived in London as a young art student, way back in the 1960s, I used to walk just about every day from Pimlico, across St James Park, to this Gallery for my daily dose of great art.
St Pauls again.
Swans on the Serpentine.
Hampstead Heath.
An old Thames Barge.
