Cracow is one of the oldest cities in Poland. It dates back to the 7th Century, and sits astride the Vistula River, which also flows through Warsaw in the centre of Poland. Cracow lies in the South of the country. It is a major academic and cultural centre.

In the centre of this photo stands a tower which is a remnant of the old city walls.

The tall building on the left is the Parish Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It stands in the Main Square of Cracow.

Unfortunately, one is not allowed to take photos inside this church.

Wawel Castle is located South of the Main Square, at a bend in the Vistula River. It was first built in the 13th and 14th Centuries, but it contains structures from the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque Periods.

The building with the green tower on the left is the Cathedral. In the foreground of this photo is part of the Main Square of the Castle.
