Gaudi's greatest masterpiece in Barcelona is the Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia (Sacred Family).

Unfortunately, for the next few decades this magnificent structure will continue to be a vast construction site and it will be surrounded by cranes which tend to spoil the visual effect.

,,,and a Voice spake unto me, "Let there be no cranes!"

And, lo, there were no cranes.

The first few photos will be of the exterior of Sagrada Familia, looking at some of the sculptures on the facade.
Three of the spires (minus the cranes).
The interior of Sagrada Familia is thankfully devoid of cranes. We can appreciate the way in which the Gothic Cathedral has been reinvented by Gaudi. Light and colour fill the inner space.
Portrait of Antoni Gaudi i Cornet (1852 - 1926).

Gaudi was put in charge of designing the Sagrada Familia in 1883. He completely changed the initial design and put his unique stamp on the project.

This is the facade of the Casa Batilo (1904 - 1906). It is one of two buildings designed by Gaudi on the Passeig de Gracia.
This is the Casa Mila on the Passeig de Gracia (1906 - 1910). It is better known as La Pedrera.
And finally, the Palau Guell (1886 - 1887) which is notoriously difficult to photograph as it resides in a narrow street!
