St George and the Dragon
I began this painting in England in 1967, and completed it in Australia in 1968. That may explain why the light is decidedly English but the trees resemble the Moreton Bay Fig.

At the time, I was intrigued by Martin Heidegger's sceptical view of modern technology. In the painting, our modern St George is not doing too well against the mechanical dragon. Technological 'Progress' can be a mixed blessing.
