Prometheus was a Titan and the brother of Atlas. He stole fire from Zeus and gave it to humans and for this he was condemned to be chained to a rock and have his liver eaten every day by a giant eagle. His liver would grow back each day so his torment was prolonged until brave Hercules slew the giant eagle, and freed Prometheus from his chains.
